Mark E. Kaplan, MD

Dr. Mark E. Kaplan joined Family Allergy & Asthma after nearly 30 years as a board-certified allergist. Dr. Kaplan established offices are located in Gurnee and Libertyville.

Dr. Kaplan was born and raised in the Chicago area and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Grinnell College. He received a Master of Public Health from Northwestern University Medical School and an M.D. from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern and a fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Allergy/Immunology at Northwestern and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Kaplan is board certified in Internal Medicine and board re-certified in Allergy/Immunology in 2013.

Dr. Kaplan is on the medical staffs of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, NorthShore University Health Systems, and Advocate Condell Medical Center. Chicago Magazine has recognized Dr. Kaplan as a “Top Doctor” in Allergy/Immunology on multiple occasions.

Dr. Kaplan and his wife, Cheryl, have three children and live in the Chicago area. He enjoys exercise in the morning, a beer in the evening and loves to travel.
