Daniel P. Garcia, M.D.

Dr. Daniel Garcia joined the practice in 2018 when Family Allergy & Asthma acquired Kentuckiana Allergy. Dr. Garcia majored in biology and chemistry and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine with honors. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at University of Louisville affiliated hospitals, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Garcia then completed his fellowship in Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, receiving the Chairman’s Achievement Award for most outstanding research in the field of pediatric allergy.

Dr. Garcia’s career is characterized by his commitment to his patients, profession, and the advancement of science and teaching in allergy and immunology. He has authored many papers in general pediatrics, asthma, allergy, and sinusitis and served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Kentucky Medical Association. He was awarded Teaching Allergist of the Year in 2007 by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. Dr. Garcia is recognized as one of the top allergy specialists in the area, named as a “Top Doc” in Louisville Magazine by his peers in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017.

He and his wife Rita have five children and have attended Southeast Christian Church since 1987.  They have done extensive medical missionary work in Poland, Czech Republic, Jamaica, and Cuba. Dr. Garcia’s hobbies include gardening, digital and film photography, painting, piano, and fishing.
